Design of machine learning algorithms and in the use of linear and mixed-integer optimization models to solve feature selection and inference problems both in the supervised and unsupervised settings. The motivating domains relate with machine learning from large-scale data in industrial reverse logistics, disease modelling in biomedicine, and genetics.
